Writing has always been an integral part of Ann's life. A therapeutic tool as a teen grew into a passion as an adult, which lead her to drive to write her first novel, A Lost Woman in 2018.
Ann Brooks started her career in Psychology in 2004. After working for a nonprofit company for four years, Ann shifted careers following the birth of her first son in 2014. After taking time to devote her time to her family and teaching career, Ann turned back to writing in 2017, completing her first novel in 2018.
Following the completion of her first novel, Ann worked for over a year to get the book professionally published. In late 2019, Ann received an offer from an Indie Publisher to publish, A Lost Woman, which was released in February 2020.
Ann had started working on her next novel but was derailed by her current 4th-grade students when her first book was released who wanted her to write a book that they could read. Progressively over the next few months, Ann completed her first YA Fantasy, The Blood Inside Me. Publishing the book in May 2021 Ann was able to gift the book to her students at their 5th-grade graduation.
Recently, Ann has launched a new career in publishing, taking a position at a local publishing company, Indigo River Publishing in early 2022. Currently, she is the Acquisitions Director. Through this position, Ann has had the opportunity to meet numerous authors and help them reach their dream of publishing their stories.
Ann is in the process of publishing her 3rd novel, The Girl in the Water with Indigo River Publishing.
